The building in front of St. Chad’s Church is shown on the 1932 Ordnance Survey Map as being a bank branch, probably what became Midland Bank. It was demolished in the late 1930s.
The Wesleyan Methodist Chapel from which the street was named. The Chapel was founded in 1819 and demolished in 1966. The site is now occupied by Poulton Dry Cleaners and others.

Queens Square in 1965. The congregation at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel moved to their new church on Queensway in 1965 and this chapel was demolished in 1966. The site is now occupied by Poulton Dry Cleaning Centre.
Junction of Tithebarn Street with Queensway; Congregational Chapel as restored in 1886, once the Sunday School, now the United Reform Church; later church to the right now redeveloped as apartments. The original Independent Chapel dated back to about 1808.
