Queensway

Queensway was not built until the mid 1960s. Prior to this the land consisted of fields, allotments, orchards and smallholdings.

The construction of Queensway allowed for the creation of a one way system on Ball Street and the East end of Tithebarn Street. In the 1970s it created better access for the Teanlowe Centre and its car park.

  • Until the 1960s this would have been the view from Queensway, towards St Chads Church. Allotments and small holdings where the Teanlowe Centre car park now is.
