Older photo of Congregational Chapel, then used as the Sunday School, next to its successor as the church, now apartments. The building to the left could be 19 Tithebarn St, once home to builder & pigeon fancier Richard Eaves. Behind the house were allotments, presumably accessible through the gate.
Junction of Tithebarn Street with Queensway; Congregational Chapel as restored in 1886, once the Sunday School, now the United Reform Church; later church to the right now redeveloped as apartments. The original Independent Chapel dated back to about 1808.

The tithe barn was used to store crops collected as tithes (rents) from the local farmers by St. Chads Church.
The tithe barn was on the South side of Tithebarn Street until it was demolished in 1969 to make way for the Teanlowe Centre car park.
